The new national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu has revealed that the party has its work cut out ahead of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
The APC Chairman stated that he has an order from President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver during the forthcoming general elections in the country.
Adamu made this known on Friday while receiving his certificate of return from the Chairman of the Convention Planning Sub-Committee, Governor Mohammed Badaru of Jigawa State.
He called on the leadership and members of the APC to work with him in ensuring the directive from the President who is the leader of the party is actualized, adding that there must be no room for failure.
“On the coming elections, we cannot move the way we are to an election. We have a marching order from the leader of this party, President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We will have to deliver, there will be no excuses whatsoever and we need every hand on deck for this to happen”, he said.
Governor Badaru while speaking, pointed out that the fact that 66 out of the 78 positions contested during the party’s national convention were filled through consensus emphasizes the unity and togetherness that exists in APC.
“There were 78 positions contested for the NEC members and the zonal executives. The consensus was achieved in 66 positions.
“This demonstrates the fact that the APC is indeed one family and the members will always listen to President Buhari and his call for peace and unity”, the Jigawa Governor stated.
