Four Aspirants in the just concluded governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state have called on the governorship Appeal panel sitting in Makurdi to cancel the exercise and order a fresh election to save the party from losing the main election in the state.
Sen. Barnabas Gemade, Mike Aondoakaa, Dr Mathis Ibuan and Prof Terhembe Shija, in separate submissions, alleged that no elections were conducted as no party membership register, electoral officers were seen at such venues.
The aspirants told the APC panel on Tuesday in Makurdi that the results announced were fabricated and allocated to aspirants by the election panel and some members of the Party executive committee in the state.
According to them, the conduct of the primary outside the stipulated time of the National Working Committee NWC has amounted to a violation of the electoral act as well as the INEC guidelines.
Addressing aspirants, the presiding Chairman of the appeal panel Committee, Barr. Ozoama Oyeama assured petitioners that the committee would ensure justice after a critical look at their complaints.
