The absence of prominent south-east leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the official unveiling of Kashim Shettima as the running mate for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu has raised some eyebrows.
It was observed that many of the APC leaders from the region including Governors, Ministers, Legislators and even 2023 aspirants were missing at the official unveiling of Shettima which took place on Wednesday at the Shehu Musa Yaradua Centre in Abuja.
Naija News recalls the APC presidential candidate, Tinubu officially presented Shettima to party leaders at Wednesday’s event.
This comes amidst the outcry against the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the party.
However, some of the southeast leaders expected at the event but who were conspicuously absent include former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ikeobasi Mokelu; former Minister of State for Education, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu; Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi; former Minister of Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma and Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Meanwhile, the unveiling itself appears to have been overshadowed by reports that some “unknown Bishops” and ‘pastors’ were allegedly hired by the Tinubu Camp to the venue of the unveiling of the vice presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima.
Trending photos and videos have emerged on social media of the ‘clergymen’ while the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has disowned them, describing them as ‘desperadoes.’
