Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has advised the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to appeal to the Governors of Rivers and Benue States, Nyesom Wike and Samuel Ortom respectively.
Reacting to Ortom’s statement during an interview on Arise News on Wednesday, Omokri said the PDP leadership should appeal and listen to the two governors because they have laboured to build the party.
During the interview, Ortom accused the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar of failing to honour the democratic choice in the selection of his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
The Benue governor also decried the alleged poor treatment meted out to Wike by Atiku during the selection of the party’s vice-presidential candidate.
He also noted the failure of Atiku to reach out to Wike, and some other aggrieved members of the party after picking Okowa as his running mate.
Reacting in a tweet via his Twitter handle, Omokri stated that no PDP member should condemn Governors Wike and Ortom for their actions and comments.
Omokri urged leaders of the party to seek to understand them and then accommodate them ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He wrote: “Stooping to conquer is not weakness. Nobody in the PDP should disparage Wike or Ortom. They should be appealed to and listened to. The PDP ought to seek to understand them. And then to accommodate them. When people who labour to build get angry, you embrace them!”
