A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose on Saturday endorsed his ex-deputy, Kolapo Olushola Eleka as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ekiti South Senatorial seat.
Eleka was the governorship candidate of the party in the 2018 Ekiti governorship election.
Fayose endorsed Eleka during a town hall meeting with stakeholders in Ise/Orun Local Government.
According to the former Governor, the endorsement of Eleka doesn’t stop other aspirants from contesting the primary election.
He further stated that his support for Eleka is in the interest of the party and not against anyone.
The PDP chieftain disclosed that the lawmaker currently occupying the seat in the Senate, Biodun Olujimi has been to the House of Representatives and Senate two times.
He charged her to see his decision beyond the personal ambition of any individual.
Fayose said, “Senator Biodun Olujimi, the present occupier of the seat, should see this decision beyond the personal ambition of any individual.
“She has benefitted immensely from the party by going to the House of Representatives and Senate for two terms.”
