Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has advised political appointees planning to resign their appointments and contest for elective offices to think deeply before leaving their posts.
Naija News reports that Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act 2022 stated that political appointees who have political ambitions would have to resign from their positions.
Therefore, in line with the new law, some governors had directed their appointees who had political ambitions to tender their resignation letters within a stipulated date.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Sunday, Sani urged various appointees seeking political offices to rethink their actions before leaving what they have for what they are not sure of.
The Kaduna governorship aspirant, however, described politics as murky, treacherous and shark-infested waters.
He tweeted, “Before you resign from your appointment or position to jump into the murky, treacherous & shark-infested waters of politics & contest elections, think twice & look left, right & deeper. And know that you are leaving what you have for what you are not sure at where you don’t know.”
