2023: Nine Aspirants To Contest APC Governorship Ticket In Abia

At least nine members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State have declared interest in the party’s 2023 governorship ticket.

Speaking in Umuahia on Friday, APC Chairman in the state, Acho Obioma, said the party leadership is making arrangements to meet with all the nine governorship aspirants next week Tuesday to finetune modalities for the forthcoming primaries.

The party chieftain assured that the stakeholders will make a collective decision to arrive at the party’s flag bearer ahead of the 2023 elections in the state.

Naija News reports that Obioma stated this when he received the Nigerian Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah at the APC State Secretariate, in Umuahia yesterday.

Ogah flanked by a mammoth crowd of the party faithful was in the party’s Secretariat at Azikwe road Umuahia, to inform the Abia leadership of his intention to vie for the office of the Governor of Abia State in the 2023 general elections in the country.

Obioha noted further that there is no crack in the state leadership of the APC and reiterated that the party remained focused and will come out from the primaries as one family.

He frowned at the undemocratic activities and evil machinations of a few disloyal party members whom he alleged have records characterized by deceits and propaganda.

The Abia APC chairman vowed that no amount of antics would deter the party from emerging victorious in the 2023 elections in Abia state.

Obioma, a former member of the federal House of Representatives, urged the party members to disregard the shenanigans, and continue to work harmoniously towards deepening the overwhelming acceptability and popularity of the APC among the majority of Abia citizens and the residents of the state, especially now the general election is fast approaching.
