2023: Actions Have Been Taken To Address Aggrieved PDP Members – Atiku

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has said that the opposition party is working behind the clock to address the grievances of some party stakeholders ahead of the 2023 election.

Naija News understands that some PDP members have expressed displeasure over happenings in the party following the emergence of Atiku and Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as the party’s presidential candidate and running mate for the 2023 election.

The rancour also affected the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike who came second at the party’s primaries and also lost the running mate’s ticket to Okowa despite expectations.

Taking to his verified Twitter page on Thursday, Atiku said PDP will remain united in spite of the current issues in the party.

Recall that Governor of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Wednesday decried post-primary happenings in PDP, describing decisions by party chieftains, Atiku especially as an ‘insult’ to GovernorWike.

He said Atiku should explain why he did not pick the former presidential aspirant as his running mate.

Also, Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose insisted that power should shift to the South.

Reacting, Atiku took to social media today and said, ”The @OfficialPDPNig will remain united. Focus on our actions. We are taking action to address the feelings of all party members. The unity in our community is my priority. Our resolve to unify Nigeria starts in our party and moves to the community, then on to society.

”Every Governor, Legislator, and other elected officials produced by our party, and party members and loyalists, are much loved and respected by me.

”When they speak, I listen. I do not only listen. Appropriate actions have been taken, are being taken, and will continue to be advanced.”
