The recent visit by some Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to former President Goodluck Jonathan has rattled and disoriented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) according to Mallam Yekini Nabena.
Nabena who is the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC made this submission on Sunday when he reacted to PDP’s own statement on the incident.
It will be recalled that the PDP in an earlier statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said that APC governors visited Jonathan in Abuja after realizing that Nigerians were better off under his administration in 2015 before they created artificial symbols of misgovernance, corruption, and other misgivings just to grab power.
However, APC in a quick reaction countered by saying PDP is lacking in confidence and should rather focus on picking itself up.
The statement titled Why Is PDP Rattled By APC Governors’ Visit To Jonathan? reads: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is obviously rattled and disoriented by the recent courtesy visit by some Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Chairman, APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni led the APC delegation.
“At a time when the PDP and its leadership are grappling with a crisis of confidence, one would expect the failed opposition to focus on picking itself up.
“As a party for all progressives, the APC on its part will continue to consolidate on its national appeal and acceptance.”
