The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, on Monday, distanced himself from a reported alliance with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
Adebayo said SDP is not aware of any plan of the ruling party to merge with them ahead of the 2023 general election.
He further stated that SDP would have to take APC for deliverance and sanitation because they are bad luck.
The SDP presidential candidate further stated that APC has mismanaged Nigeria’s economy.
Adebayo noted that members of the APC would have to queue up if they have the intention to join the party.
The presidential candidate in a statement released on Monday said, “Who is Tinubu? He is not here. SDP is the party of Abiola. We can’t merge with APC and if they want to merge with us, I don’t know because they haven’t told us, if they want to merge with us, we have to take them for deliverance and sanitization, because how do you merge with such bad luck, they had mismanaged the nation’s economy.
“If we are important and they want to merge with us, they can join SDP, and queue up because many of them used to be members of SDP before they joined corruption. What we want to do now is not about them because Nigerian people have a choice.”
