    Tinubu In Closed Door Meeting With Obasanjo

    The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu is in a closed-door meeting with former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

    The presidential candidate is meeting with Obasanjo as part of his consultation ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

    Naija News gathered that the chopper of the former Governor of Lagos State landed at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Oke Mosan, Abeokuta around 1 pm.

    The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun who was on the ground received Tinubu, while his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele and former governors Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel also welcomed their leader.

    Tinubu immediately went straight into the closed-door meeting with Obasanjo.

    Others at the meeting are the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, former APC Chairman, Bisi Akande, Nuhu Ribadu and several others.

    2023: Femi Kuti Hosts Peter Obi Days After ‘Rejecting’ ‘Obidient movement’

    The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has paid a surprise visit to Afrobeats musician, Femi Kuti, days after disclosing that he has no interest in joining the ‘Obidient movement’.

    Naija News recalls that Kuti while speaking during a performance at the Fela Shrine expressed disdain for Obi’s supporters, insisting they are a group of slavish characters who, like zombies, are incapable of thinking for themselves and making their own decision.

    The ‘Obidient movement’ is a group made up of Nigerians who have pledged their allegiance to Peter Obi.

    According to Kuti, he is too angry and depressed over the situation of the country to be ‘Obidient’.

    He, however, made a video clarifying his statement after it sparked outrage amongst Nigerian youths on social media.

    Shortly after the controversy, the LP presidential candidate visited the iconic singer at the Afrika shrine in Lagos.

    2023: I Will Tell You Who To Vote For – Wike Tells Rivers People

    The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, said he will tell the people of Rivers who to vote in the 2023 general elections.
    Wike, in his statement, said he knows all the candidates contesting in the 2023 race very well.

    He further stated that some people want to be Governor without an agenda.

    Wike said he owes the state a lot for giving him the opportunity to lead for two terms.

    The Peoples Democratic Party Governor vowed to stand against anyone that will take the state astray, describing such people as armed robbers.

    Wike stated this while speaking at the commissioning of the remodelled Waterlines Building in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

    2023: Satguru Maharaj Ji Backs APC Muslim-Muslim Ticket

    The founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has backed the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket fielded by the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2023 elections.

    Naija News reports that the presidential ambition of the National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, has been facing challenges following his decision to pick the former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

    Some Nigerians and Christian groups are not pleased with the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party.

    In a chat with reporters on Tuesday, Maharaj Ji stated that those criticising the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party are just being mischievous and hypocritical, asking them to desist from it.

    The cleric asserted that religion is not the requirement for performance in office, saying that competence and capability should be the criteria to be considered.

    2023: Wike, Ortom, Others Won’t Put Atiku, PDP At Risk – Ologbondiyan

    The former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, on Wednesday, dismissed the claims that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, will put the party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar at risk.

    Ologbondiyan, while speaking on the crisis rocking the PDP, said he is confident that Wike would not take steps that would hinder Atiku from winning in 2023.

    The PDP Chieftain also noted that the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom and the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, who have senatorial ambitions, would also work in favour of the party.

    Ologbondiyan said he does not see them aligning with another political party ahead of the 2023 general election.

    He further stated that Governor Wike remains a member of the party until he decides to pick the card of the All Progressives Congress or any other party.

    2023 Presidency: Why I Visited Femi Kuti – Peter Obi Opens Up

    The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has revealed the reason he visited Afrobeats musician, Femi Kuti days after the singer had an online squabble with his supporters.

    Naija News reports that Peter Obi visited the 60-year-old musician at the New Afrika Shrine entertainment center in Ikeja, Lagos, on Wednesday.

    The presidential candidate noted that he visited the singer over a tweet he made about him which, according to him, was a misconception about his plans for Nigeria.

    “I saw what he (Kuti) tweeted and I said no, that is not the future and society we want to lead. We will campaign based on issues that affect Nigeria and that’s what I encourage everybody to do,” Obi said shortly before leaving the musician’s residence in a video that surfaced on social media.

    Go And Apologize To Amaechi – Group Tells Wike Personal Vendetta Is Responsible For Plot Against Him

    Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA has asked the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike to apologize to his predecessor Rotimi Amaechi.

    The group stated that Wike ought to apologize to Amaechi for his political vendetta against him.

    In a statement by its national Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, HURIWA said they are of the opinion that “the politically motivated witch-hunt using certain forces in the judiciary against Amaechi is the source of the current political troubles and ‘karma’ afflicting Wike.”

    Naija News recalls that Wike had earlier stated that some aggrieved individuals in the People Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primary for 2023 which produced former State Accountant-General, Sim Fubara as candidate, were leading an Abuja plot for his downfall.

    Wike who said this during activities to celebrate former Governor Peter Odili at 74 said that some party stalwarts who were interested in the governorship ticket but failed to obtain it were leading the gang up against him.

    Ologbondiyan Speaks On Gov Wike Inviting APC Members To Commission Project

    Former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbondiyan has reacted to the decision of the Rivers State Governor to invite members of the opposition party to commission projects in his state.

    According to Ologbondiyan, Governor Wike is known for inviting members of the opposition party to commission project, adding that it’s not because of the crisis in PDP.

    He recalled that Wike had once invited the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and Senator Ali Ndume to commission projects.

    Ologbondiyan further stated that Wike’s decision at that time was not condemned by people, he wondered why people are suddenly attacking him.

    Speaking on Wike’s meeting with Peter Obi, Ologbondiyan said the former Governor of Anambra State could be meeting with him because of vote.

    Atiku Won 2019 Presidential Election, I Can Swear With Quran – Galadima

    A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima has insisted that the 2019 presidential election was won by Atiku Abubakar.

    Atiku was the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.

    The former vice president according to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was defeated by the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari.

    Galadima while speaking on the large crowd that received Atiku at the Aminu Kano International Airport, Emir’s Palace and Sani Abacha Stadium in 2019, said the election was won by Atiku.

    The elder statesman in an interview with Premium Times pointed to a statement of President Buhari where he had insisted that he would win the 2019 presidential election.

    The former ally of President Buhari stated that he can swear with the Holy Quran that the presidential candidate of the PDP won the 2019 presidential election.

    Wike Meetings – You Should Be Having Sleepless Nights – Ohuabunwa To Atiku

    A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Sam Ohuabunwa has said that he would be troubled if he were in the shoes of the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

    Ohuabunwa stated that the different meetings being held by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike would have resulted in him having sleepless nights.

    Sharing his thoughts on the political situation in the country during an interview on Channels TV, Ohuabunwa accused the PDP leadership of taking competitors such as Labor Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi for granted, warning that such an act was dangerous.

    He explained that if he were on Atiku’s side he would advice him to take all of Wike’s meeting in Port Harcourt seriously.

    2023: Only God Can Stop Kwankwaso’s Presidency – Buba Galadima

    A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari and now a chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has said it is only God that can stop Rabiu Kwankwaso from emerging winner in the forthcoming presidential elections.

    Naija News reports that Galadima made this known while appearing on a TV program on Tuesday.

    He said that all the permutations have suggested that Kwankwaso will be the president.

    Replying to questions regarding the party’s hold in the Southern region of the country, Galadima maintained that it is under control, adding that its presidential candidate recently visited Lagos and the crowd who came out to welcome him was overwhelming.
