    2023: Avoid Voting Killers Into Power – Goodluck Jonathan Sends Strong Warning To Nigerians

    Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has cautioned citizens against voting the wrong set of persons into power in 2023.

    He said with the wrong set of people in power, the citizens will continue to suffer.

    Jonathan stressed that those who kill in order to get into power will continue to kill to remain in power and therefore cautioned Nigerians against voting for such people during the the2023 elections.

    Naija News reports the former President made the submission on Sunday while speaking in Uyo during a special interdenominational service to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State.

    Adebutu, Amosun Group Swear Oath, Share Ogun Juicy Political Offices

    In an oath deposed at the High Court of Ogun State, Abeokuta, dated September 16, 2022, the Ogun State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Oladipupo Adebutu, and the former governorship candidate under the platform of the Allied Progressive Movement in the 2019 elections, Adekunle Akinlade, have reached an agreement on the 2023 Ogun State governorship polls.

    Naija News reports that the alliance agreement is titled, “The Alliance Agreement between Dr. Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu and Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade in respect of the 2023 elections into the office of Governor, Deputy Governor, related elective positions and appointments in Ogun State, Nigeria.”

    According to the agreement, the Deputy Governor, Ogun West Senatorial Ticket, and Two House of Assembly Tickets (Ogun Central) will be given by Adebutu and the PDP to Akinlade and his APM group.

    After winning the 2023 governorship election, Adebutu and the PDP will concede seven substantive commissioner slots, 15 special adviser slots, 20 senior special assistant slots, 20 special assistant slots, five statutory board chairman slots, and five local government executive chairman slots.

    The state PDP Chairman, Sikirulai Ogundele, and the Secretary of the party in the state, Sunday Solarin witnessed the oath-taking at the High Court.

    2023 Presidency: APC To Begin Campaign With Solidarity March

    The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Wednesday begin its presidential campaign nationwide with a solidarity march.

    Naija News reports that the APC and other political parties will start their presidential campaigns nationwide on September 28 in line with the directive of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

    According to a statement released by the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, the solidarity march would start from the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) office on Herbert Macaulay Way, Central Business District, Abuja, to the Unity Fountain, Maitama.

    The statement added that necessary logistics had been put in place to ensure that the campaigns take off simultaneously in different regions of the country.

    Fani-Kayode Blows Hot, Slams PDP For Saying Osinbajo Rejected Campaign Council PositionA former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has berated Nigerians alleging that vice president Yemi Osinbajo rejected the offer of being in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) because of the Muslim-Muslim ticket fielded by the party.

    Naija News recalls that on Friday the council list, which comprises about 400 members was released by the PCC Secretary, James Faleke, a federal lawmaker.

    However, conspicuously missing from the list was the name of Osinbajo who was a strong contender in the APC primaries.

    Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode said that those who were saying that Osinbajo and Boss Mustapha rejected a position on the list because of the same faith ticket fielded by the APC should get their head examined.

    2023: Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council Launches Podcast

    The Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council has launched a political podcast ahead of the start of the September 28 official campaigns.

    Naija News reports that the spokesman of the campaign council, Festus Keyamo, made this known via his Twitter page on Saturday evening.

    The Minister of State for Labour and Employment also shared a clip of the first edition of the video podcast (a recording of a discussion on any issue that can be downloaded or listened to on the internet).

    Speaking in the podcast, Keyamo said the audio recordings which would be weekly will showcase the achievements of the Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

    He added that the podcast would also be used to highlight the issues in the country, refute the fallacies and set the tone for this campaign on a weekly basis.

    The minister added that Tinubu is an easy presidential candidate to sell to Nigerians because of his record and achievements.

    Rivers 2023: Magnus Abe Names Running Mate, Campaign Council DG

    The Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe, has named Dr. Patricia Ogbonnaya as his running-mate and deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.

    In a statement signed and sent to Naija News on Saturday by the Spokesperson to Senator Abe, Parry Saroh Benson, the SDP Guber candidate also appointed former Senator representing Rivers West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Wilson Ake, as the Director-General of his Campaign Council.

    Speaking during a ceremony to unveil his running mate, Senator Abe said the choice of Ogbonnaya, who is the Ada Ekpeye Logbo II of Ekpeye Kingdom, was borne out of the desire to have an astute administrator as his deputy.

    APC Reward System Is Poor – Joe Igbokwe Laments After Release Of PCC List

    A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has said that the party has a poor reward system.

    Igbokwe statement is coming after the release of APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) list for the 2023 general elections.

    Naija News reports that the council list, which comprises about 400 members, was released on Friday by the PCC Secretary, James Faleke, a federal lawmaker.

    Speaking after the list was released, Igbokwe insisted that the APC reward system is nothing to write home about as the party tends to reward persons of questionable characters.
