President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a meeting with twenty-two governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the presidential villa Abuja.
Also present are the national chairman of the party, Senator Adamu Abdullahi, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.
The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo is absent from the meeting as he is expected to be screened by the presidential screening committee of the ruling party led by John Odigie-Oyegun.
The meeting which is being held at the Council Chambers may not be unconnected to the party’s presidential election scheduled for the 6th of June.
However, the screening committee of the party is still busy conducting screening of aspirants for the primary election despite the ongoing meeting.
The committee is expected to screen 23 aspirants ahead of the party’s primary election.
President Buhari after the meeting is expected to depart the shores of Nigeria for Madrid, Spain.
