“Is That Our Problem Now? – Wike Speaks On Muslim-Muslim Ticket

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has accused politicians sponsoring the Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidency of deceiving Nigerians.

The Governor lamented that the same faith ticket has been made into a tool of distraction ahead of the general elections.

Naija News reports Wike made his view on the matter known on Friday while speaking during the inauguration of the Rivers House of Assembly Quarters built for state lawmakers in Rivers.

He submitted that what Nigeria needs is leadership to move the country forward.

It will be recalled that the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to field a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket has generated a lot of controversies in the polity.

Speaking on the development, Wike asked, “Is that our problem now? before adding that “we need leadership to move this country forward”.

Speaking further, the Rivers State Governor said the electorates are being deceived by the same religion ticket instead of focusing on things that would move the country forward.

Wike said: “The only problem I have is that even the electorate are being deceived; stories, Muslim-Muslim, Christian-Christian, native doctor-native doctor, this and that. Is that our problem now? At the appropriate time we talk politics. We need leadership to move this country forward”.

    You Can’t Impeach Buhari

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has mocked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers threatening to impeach the President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Naija News recalls that the minority lawmakers in the Senate had in July given Buhari six weeks to address the general insecurity in the country or risk impeachment.

Similarly, the PDP caucus in the House of Representatives also joined in the six-week ultimatum after a meeting of the party’s National Assembly caucus.

Reacting to this, Wike during the project commissioning in Rivers State on Friday, mocked the decision of the lawmakers.

According to the governor, the lawmakers lack the courage to impeach the president, stating that they do not have the balls for such an act.
