Kwankwaso’s Ally Abba Gida-Gida, Others Dump PDP For NNPP

Some loyalists of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Naija News reports that Abba Kabir Yusuf, popularly known as Abba Gida-Gida, who contested the 2019 Kano governorship election under the PDP, and his then-running mate Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, led the defectors.

It was gathered that the defection is all geared towards the March 30 decamping of former Kano governor, Kwankwaso.

Speaking on Sunday at Kwankwasiyya House at Diso ward in Kano, Abba Gida-Gida said there is no difference between the PDP and the APC.

While stating that only the NNPP can rescue Kano and Nigeria, Abba Gida-Gida declared that they won’t rest until they wiin the Kano governorship election.

He said: “Today, God in his infinite mercy has joined us once again in this Kwankwasiyya house at Diso ward. We met here in 2018 when we entered the PDP and officially told the world that we have left the APC. Our reason for leaving the APC at that time was because of injustice. They have went on the wrong lane they were not supposed to.

When they started doing things that were unholy, we decided we cannot move along with them and defected to the PDP. At that time, we thought there’s difference between the APC and PDP. It is after we went a long way, we discovered that they are all birds of a feather. The reasons that had us defect from APC is the same thing we found ourselves deeply in the PDP.

“The PDP has done a lot of unfavourable things especially at the national headquarters. We thought they will do Justice to us, especially our leader, Kwankwaso.

“We thought the PDP will show love to the people of Kano state who came out massively in the year 2019 and voted the party. But what it is doing in return is going against leaders. We discovered that whoever has the masses at heart, the party doesn’t like that person.

“It is time, we heed to the followers of the kwankwasiyya movement who have been calling on the leadership to leave these cheaters because they have seen it that we don’t have a place there. We sat and reviewed the call and have given in to their request. We have decided that this party (raising a pineapple) is the one that is going to save the masses out of the trap they are in.”
