In a bid to quell the crisis rocking the South-west caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on Wednesday led some leaders of the party to meet with former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose.
Naija News reports that the tussle for the leadership of the party in the zone between Governor Seyi Makinde and Fayose has torn the South-west PDP apart.
According to The Punch, other at the meeting held at the Ibadan residence of Fayose include a former National Vice Chairman of the PDP in the region, Dr Eddy Olafeso, and a former member, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Dr Saka Balogun.
Other are Femi Babalola, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeniyan; Rev Bunmi Jenyo, as well as some leaders of the party in Ogun, Ekiti and Lagos states; Dr Sikirulai Ogundele, Otunba Bisi Kolawole, Adedeji Doherty and Sunday Bisi.
It was gathered that the meeting with Fayose was part of the reconciliatory assignment given to Oyinlola.
One of the leaders in attendance told The Punch that the meeting affirmed that Olafeso should be returned as the next national vice chairman of the PDP in the South-West.
Recall that Oyinlola was appointed head of a reconciliation committee by the Makinde-led faction.
