The forum of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates and aspirants has passed a no-confidence vote on some members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
Naija News reports that the forum said the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and the Deputy National Chairman, North, Umar Damagum, cannot be trusted.
The group also said it has petitioned the national executive committee of the party and demanded either the resignation or removal of the three NWC members within 48 hours.
In a statement by the forum’s Coordinator, Chris Ogbu and Secretary, Dauda Yusuf, they threatened to institute a suit against the party chiefs if they failed to comply with their demand within 48 hours.
The group accused the party leadership of extorting aspirants during the congresses, primaries, and special National Convention of the party.
It further alleged fraudulent substitution of candidates after the party primaries.
Ogbu said, “Sharing the money paid for nomination forms instead of utilizing it for the prosecution of the historic 2023 election of the party is very provocative and indicting to the image of the party.”
