The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has been invited by the United States of America (USA) Commission for International Religious Freedom to attend a stakeholders’ meeting on religious freedom.
Adebayo who is presently in Washington DC will be meeting with Ambassadors, State Department officials, university officials, and the National Black Chamber of Commerce, among others.
He will also attend a national Presidential Prayer Breakfast committee luncheon in Arlington.
“The United States is an important ally to my country,” Adebayo said upon arriving in Washington, DC.
“It is an honour to have this chance to make my case to the American people and seek ways to further build on our international relationship,” he added
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the United Nations to help in preventing the All Progressives Congress (APC) from rigging the 2023 election.
Umar Damagum, the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), called for the assistance of the organization while receiving a team of special representatives of the UN Secretary-General, led by the head of the UN Office in West Africa and the Sahel Region (UNOWAS), Ahmad Annadif, on Tuesday in Abuja.
