Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has revealed that Governor Nyesom Wike will join the All Progressives Congress (APC) after other People Democratic Party (PDP) governors have joined.
Speaking on Thursday evening while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Bello said more governors are plotting to follow Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, to the APC.
While describing Umahi as “The Politician Of The Year”, the Kogi governor said the people of the South-east would not regret the move by Umahi.
He also stated that the ruling APC would protect the interest of the people of the region in the 2023 presidential elections.
Yahaya Bello said, “Umahi is with us, others are coming.
“Other governors are already knocking. They are on their way. We will be unveiling them one after the other.
“Wike might be the last to join the All Progressives Congress. Others are lining up.”
Naija News had reported earlier that the Ebonyi Governor announced his defection from PDP to APC while addressing journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital on Tuesday, November 17.
Governor Umahi said he moved to the ruling APC because of injustice meted out to the Southeast by his former political party, the PDP.
The Ebonyi Governor clarified that he has no deal with the APC or any member of the party with regards to the zoning of the presidential position to the southeast in 2023 as touted in some quarters.
